The 'fakenews'-list in the New York Times

During the desastrous pre-elections in the VS, where de Democrates blocked the winning candidate Berny Sanders from being their President Candidate, the Mainstream Media played a very ugly role. Trump blamed them for faking the news (and he was right). The mainstream media was damaged for a short period, but returned offensive by distorting the awareness of the public and using the term 'fakenews' to blame it on the alternative and Free Media

A list of alledged Fake News Media on an unknown website calling itself PropOrNot, was re-publised by the New York Times, and copied by many neo-con controlled western media. It turned out to be a comprehesive summary of alternative and free media, many of them high quality journalism. some of them were later removed, but new lists evolved everywhere all blaming the independent media outlets for bias and conspiracy
